About Construction Software Solutions
Accu-Corner™ came about as a means of self-defense. When Pete Olmsted got into the homebuilding business more than three and a half decades ago, he found himself plagued by seriously out-of-square foundations. So he took matters into his own hands and started calculating foundation diagonals with—believe it or not—a slide rule. Then came a succession of technological advances: affordable desktop calculators, followed by hand-held calculators with memory and trigonometric functions. Before long Pete could quickly and effortlessly lay out virtually any building by triangulating off two stationary points on the site. But a problem arose when he tried to teach his system to others: there were few people interested in learning the math required to make his system work.
Enter Dr. Martha West, aerospace engineer and ace software developer. In April of 2001, during a five-hour "lunch break" in Guanajuato, Mexico, Pete and Martha thrashed out the basic strategy for rendering into software everything Pete had been doing for so many years with hand-held calculators. Over the next 30 months, Martha (from her office in Denver, CO) and Pete (from his office in Santa Fe, NM) collaborated to create the system that would eventually become Accu-Corner™. As luck would have it, while they were developing Accu-Corner™, GoToMeeting.com came into existence, allowing Construction Software Solutions (CSS) to demo its new system anywhere in the world, without leaving home. If you think Accu-Corner™ might help you become a more successful builder, sign up for a real-time, live demo and a CSS representative will call you to set up a demo time. |
